Studying with Marvin

I can probably write a book and someday I might, but for a teacher like

Marvin to agree to teach me, is a blessing.  He took an average rock and

roll guitar player, who did not have much jazz listening experience and

decided to work with me.  I had always wanted to learn the drums and

decided that it was not too late, sure I'm not 15 but I'm not 95 either and my

desire and eagerness to learn coupled with Marvin's mastery of the

instrument has been invaluable.  In the span of 10 months, he took me from

a non-playing hacker, to the bandstand   I still need YEARS of study and

work, but I never could have made it to where I am so far without Marvin

(and  senior advisor Andrew) .  One IMPORTANT factor, Marvin

has taught me to relax and to go with the flow, to enjoy the studying.

Man, it takes work, practice, late nights, the sacrifice of time where I can't

do other things BUT if you want to learn the drums, jazz drums, there is

no better teacher or method.  I am 100% certain with my choice, that my

research to find Marvin, will pay off.  In fact, I love the man so much, I

created this website for him.  He is a great teacher and SPECTACULAR friend.

Thank you Marvin......  Jan
